
Doreen Yee has been a practicing anesthesiologist for more than 30 years at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and faculty at University of Toronto after finishing her residency at Queen’s University. Her clinical interests include trauma anesthesia and resuscitation, having been a trauma team leader for many years. Over this time, she has held different positions including Sunnybrook President of the Medial Dental Staff, Treasurer of Ontario’s Anesthesiologists, and a term as Secretary of the CAS Board. Her involvement with the CAS started in 1998 when she was the Local Arrangements Chair for the annual CAS meeting, which she did again in 2006. She returned to school to acquire an MBA at the Ivey School of Business in 2004. In 2018, she was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Ontario’s Anesthesiologists for her provincial and national contributions.
Currently, she is the Anesthesia Director of Fellowship & IMG Programs at the University of Toronto, as well as Chair of the Canadian Anesthesia Research Foundation. She enjoys traveling to northern Canada for canoe trips, where she started her medical career in general practice. Now a “retired runner”, she continues to enjoy traveling and cycling.
