Membership rate: $720
Medical Practitioners residing in Canada who are certified as specialists in anesthesia by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or by the Corporation professionnelle des médecins du Québec, or hold qualifications granting specialist status in anesthesia in the jurisdiction where such qualifications were obtained and are accepted by the Board of Directors of the Society.

ASSOCIATE (RESIDING IN CANADA)

Membership rate: $635
Medical practitioners residing in Canada who are not specialist anesthesiologists but are engaged in the practice of anesthesia. Medical practitioners and scientists residing in Canada not engaged in the practice of but interested in anesthesia.

ASSOCIATE (NOT RESIDING IN CANADA)

Membership rate: $580
Physicians not residing in Canada who are engaged in the practice of anesthesia. Scientists not residing in Canada who are interested in anesthesia.

RATES FOR NEWLY CERTIFIED CANADIAN ANESTHESIOLOGISTS

For newly certified Canadian anesthesiologists, we are pleased to provide discounts on fees for their first three years of practice.

Year One of Practice:	60% Discount ($288)
Year Two of Practice:	40% Discount ($432)
Year Three of Practice:	20% Discount ($576)

Resident members will be able to renew automatically at the discounted rates following certification – anesthesiologists new to CAS will need to include confirmation of their year of certification to take advantage of the discount for their current year of practice.

PLEASE NOTE: All rates are subject to HST/GST where applicable within Canada; no tax is applicable outside Canada.

ACTIVE DEFERRED 

Membership rate: $100

Individuals who are Active members of the Society, but are not practising anesthesia due to illness, pregnancy leave, etc.

Requirement: Applications for Active Deferred membership must be accompanied by a letter explaining deferment and expected date of return to Active membership.

FELLOW 

Membership rate: $100

Individuals who are members of the Society, but have opted to pursue a Fellowship for a term of one to two years.

Requirement: When applying for the Fellow rate, you must provide a letter confirming proof of active Fellowship.

ANESTHESIA ASSISTANT 

Membership rate: $100

Individuals who assist anesthesiologists in the delivery of anesthesia services.

Requirement: Applications for an Anesthesia Assistant membership must be accompanied by a certificate confirming their status as an active Anesthesia Assistant.

MEDICAL STUDENT 

Membership rate: $100

Individuals registered in a course leading to a university degree in medicine.

Requirement: When applying for a medical student membership, you must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited medical program. 

RESIDENT (RESIDING IN CANADA)
COMPLIMENTARY MEMBERSHIP

Medical practitioners registered in a course leading to certification as an anesthesiologist. Includes subscription to CJA Online.

Requirement: If you are a Canadian resident, you have complimentary membership, and are automatically registered. If you have not been registered, please contact the CAS Membership Coordinator (membership@cas.ca) with a letter from the director of your training program. You can also apply online.

OTHER RESIDENT MEMBER (US, FOREIGN AND CANADIAN NON-ANESTHESIA RESIDENCY)

Membership rate: $100

Medical practitioners outside of Canada, registered in a course leading to certification as an anesthesiologist; or medical practitioners residing in Canada pursuing additional courses post-certification to support their work in anesthesia

Requirement: Applications must be supported by a letter from the director of your training program.

RETIRED

Membership rate: $100

Requirement: Individuals who have been Active or Associate members of CAS previously and who have retired from the active practice of anesthesia.
