Advocacy

CAS advocates on behalf of its members by engaging policy makers with issues you have voiced, such as strategies to reduce human health resources (HHR) shortages and promoting the Anesthesia Care Team model. Member feedback determines our focus areas for helping you thrive at work and improve patient outcomes, including:

• Drug safety/shortage bulletins to ensure optimal patient care
• Position statements that highlight the key challenges facing you and your peers
• Public awareness efforts that emphasize the essential role of anesthesiologists
• Annually updated resources like the  Guidelines to the Practice of Anesthesia

• Supporting anesthesiologists-in-training in low-resource settings through the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society International Education Fund (CASIEF)
