BD Medical reports reduced drug potency of certain medications when stored in certain BD sterile plastic disposable syringes. The decreased potency is due to an interaction of some drugs with one of the two types of rubber stopper used in the syringes. This issue occurs only when drugs are compounded and/or repackaged (pre-filled and stored) in syringes containing these stoppers.
